Northern hedgehogs have longer spikes. Pics.

One of my friends just bought the SF Brambles-family and a girl baby. She had been searching ssf-shop and noticed that the pictures of the baby-hedgehogs are nothing like her baby. I went to her place yesterday and took some photos.

And yeah, the spikes are a lot longer. I compared the pictures with the ones Wendy has on her site and I must say. The baby and the rest of the family looks a lot more like calico critters-hedgehogs than SF-versions.

Here is the link to my photos:

Here are Wendy's pictures:

And for comparison:

So, why are they selling calico critter-like hedgehogs here in Finland? Does anyone else has these longspiked babies?
I think their skin is lighter too.

I've noticed that the pictures of the older Brambles and the new Pickleweeds have drastically different spike length.

But, I can't say for sure since I don't own any!

Flair re-released the Hedgehogs in the UK last year to have mad spikes like the Pickleweeds. Don't know if that information might help in any way emoticon

Hmm :S

Toyworld here has told me the hedgehogs are coming in soon, and they get the stock from UK, so I hope they look ok :S

Yes, Epoch has made several different "spike" lengths over the years. The first version of the Brambles, from the mid-1990s, had fairly long hair:

And then they got a hair cut, here are Brambles from the early 2000s

And then they apparently really let their hair down. The most recent release has the longest hair yet:

I long the long spikes the best.

Yep I just got the new set of Hedgehog family. They're absolutely gorgeous! I actually like the CC/new version better.

I'm going to make them the hair dressers of my sylvanian town lol
