Classic Bedroom Set (Art. Nr. 2942)

This bedroom set is from the European line of Sylvanian Families. I believe that there it was available in the UK at one point in time, but I'm not sure for certain. It's a nice bedroom, but I have a small complain.

Image

The pieces are a cheaper looking plastic and a yellowy brown color. The plastic feels good and solid though. I really think the color is what makes it look cheap. And it looking cheap isn't really a bad thing in this case. I have most of the pieces in this set from other sets. I like that it's a bid of a different color so where it's the same desk or dresser, the color change gives me a new option when decorating. And the color isn't awful. It's just a little cheaper looking than the browns that I'm used to.

The set is not all that accessorized, but what's included is fine. The wicker hamper basket really helps decorate the room. There are very few stickers. The bottles on the dresser are plain. The diary is make out of two stickers and there are two "Sylvanian Storybook" stickers for the books that are on the desk: one about Horatio Seadog and the other about Radish Dappledawn (I think).

The clothes tree and mirror were huge draws for me to get the set. The only other coat rack we have is from the cartoony-Country Living room and the other other full length mirrors we have are the chunky dance mirror from the Britney Bunny ready-to-play set and the odd-cornered mirror from the Country Boutique ready-to-play set. This mirror is much nicer than those two.

My complaint. The really huge big draw to this set for me was the green/gray comforter on the bed. The European box shows the green/gray comforter. It's still floral, but at least it wasn't pink. That really made me want this set.

My comforter is pink. It's well sewn. Nice quality. But pink nonetheless. It doesn't ruin in the set, but it's a complaint that I have.

Re: Classic Bedroom Set (Art. Nr. 2942)

I can confirm this set was available in the UK, I think I picked mine up around 7 years ago.
I quite like the colour of the "wood". Overall it's a set I love, as you mentioned for the coat hanger but I also love the desk with it's knick knacks and little lamp.
My cover doesn't sit well on the bed which would be my gripe. It is a pale pink and there are 4 large patchwork blocks, 2 of those are a greenish background with a pink flower. The pillow is the same shade.
From what I can see your set is much pinker but otherwise identical.

I have to agree with Dappledawn in regards to this set, I love it, particularly the colour. In fact I think it may be my favourite ever bedroom set.

I don't own this set, but it's in most of my old catalogues and I have always loved it.
I do have the desk though, I bought it separately when I visited the Sylvanian Shop... The lamp and the bin are quite cute.
