Garden Playground (Item No. 4445)

My wife really liked this set so I knew that I would have to buy it for her. She likes our critter collection, but it isn't too often that she likes a set as much as she liked this playground. When the few (several) extra dollars arrived in my spending pocket, I decided to "surprise" her by purchasing it from Small Imaginations.

As a side review, [sign in to see URL] is great. They have the cheapest shipping costs that I have found for UK orders and the ship quickly. I ordered on 4 April and had my package before Easter to put in my daughter's gift basket. I wasn't expecting it. The negative side of Small Imaginations is that they do not send an e-mail when your items post nor do you get a tracking number, but I've never had issues with them.

Anyway, back to the Garden Playground. It's a great set.

The colors and design are spot on. It looks like the playgrounds that Toys R Us has been advertising in their flyers for the past several weeks. The pavilion can be removed and the ladder and slide can by repositioned to make several different set-ups.

I love the pavilion because it can be used for quite a few different things around Sylvania since it was designed to also stand alone. That was a clever design decision that makes the set so much more fun.

The slide/see saw is the same. On one side, it's a slide. Flip it over, and you get a see saw. I think that this was available in other sets.

The trampoline is really cool. It can slide underneath the base of the playground for storage and the critters really bounce off of it! At first it just seemed like a stretchy fabric, but I dropped a critter onto the trampoline, and imagine my face when he flipped pretty high into the air and landed uncomfortably on his side.

I guess that's why Sylvania needed an ambulance...

The set is amazing but the price is pretty steep, I guess. With shipping, I was happy to pay 70 USD. I thought it would actually be more because the box is a nice size ([sign in to see URL] [sign in to see URL] [sign in to see URL] inches). I know that my wife likes the set. It is a great addition to our collection with its nice and innovative design, and I know it will be a favorite set when my daughter begins playing with her critters.

Add a bench and the pavilion would make a great bus shelter!

Thanks for this review/photos. I'd really like to get this set at some point, though could do with finding some room for it first emoticon

Thank you for the great review! I love the trampoline and I know my daughter would too. I didn't realize it was functional. Looks like the versatility of the set is fabulous for a little toddler who loves building and reconfiguring. Wish Small Imaginations still had this in stock. I ordered a few things from them and their customer service was wonderful (responded to my email quickly) and shipping so reasonable. Thank you for including the box size. Gives me a better indication of the playground size and also helps with figuring out if it's something a friend could bring in a suitcase. Thanks again!

Great review, Eric. I liked that play set when I first saw it and it's even more versatile than I thought. I don't think I'll have the space for it, unfortunately.

I fell in love with this set when looking through those pictures posted at SylvanianCity.

Somehow, yours look a bit light in colour and 'plastic'. Do those material look 'plastic' to you or do they look almost like a real thing?
