Flair Farmhouse

My daughter is 5 on the 1st of September, so thought it was the perfect excuse to order the farm house emoticon

It's lovely. quickly measured the box and its approx 49cm tall, 44cm width and 36cm in depth

the house easily fits in the box and is approx 6-8cm smaller in height than the actual box.

It takes two AA batteries for the fireplace and two lights by the side of the fireplace. There is a button next to the fireplace and the lights go off after 5 minutes.

There is just one sticker, and that goes above the door then the ladders to add oh and little red chimney piece which just slots into place

Will be adding some furniture next week

I think the front of the house looks a little bare next to the door so could do with the flowers on the trellis that comes with the farmhouse accessories set

I did think the windows would open but theyre all fixed

Pics dark as used my phone and my room wasnt very bright

Thanks for the review and picture, was hoping to see the real thing. It's a shame that the windows do not open. I think it would be more interesting to have them opened and look in from outside.

Weird that it takes five minutes for the lights to turn on.

It's a nice building, but I think that the windows could have been a light brown instead of the white; they look very stark.

It looks like the one wall is brown and the other two are white? I'm not sure I really like that either. Does it look "normal" in person in real life?

I doubt that we'll ever pay to have this shipped to the United States and we are running low on storage, but I thought that this was one of the sets I'd "dream" about adding to our collection.

Eric, hayleygirls said the lights turn OFF after five minutes emoticon Like if you were playing and forgot to close the lights it saves battery by closing automatically the lights.

It's hard to see if the other two walls are white or light brown like in the package. I really like the white wall with dark brown... wood things emoticon

I only wonder, why they didn't make the third floor bigger. I hate that open space at the 2nd floor.

It's also good that there isn't much at the back of the house - therefore it's easier to place beside a wall. You don't miss much.

Thats weird about the walls as i didnt notice before, but one does look brown in the picture. Il look Thursday morning as ive wrapped it up now.

I personally think the yellow roof could look more realistic.it does look rather plastic and looks better on the box.

Have to agree about the third floor, would be nice to have more space

Re: Flair Farmhouse

I actually really like the look, but am dissapointed the windows don't open. If I were to get one I would modify it- perhaps replace the windows with real wood on hinges, and paint or shingle the roof, apply coverings to the floors and walls. The more I look at houses the more I think I should just build something custom... even the Grand Hotel seems too small to me lol.

I think the '3rd' floor is more of a an attic, a secret nook for hide and seek emoticon
Overall, it does have a certain farmhouse charm. I flipped when I saw the promo pictures.

Can you take some pictures with furniture sets inside? I ordered the Riverside Lodge and was surprised to discover I really can't fit any of my complete furniture sets inside. That looks like a fairly spacious 4 rooms...

Thank you for sharing pics!
I am a bit deceived, because the roof looks not so beautiful than on the pic on SSK site.
It looks more like plastic.
The general look is good thought...
as I have storage problem for now, not sure I will go for it asap. Perhaps later emoticon

Hi Rose414,
How to modify the window? Can the window be removed? I thought they are moulded together? I never thought we could modify the house.

Thanks for the review, this is one of the buildings I've been looking forward to, but I'm not sure about that now. I agree, they should have painted the window frame brown or perhaps add a set of brown shutters.
I also don't know why the creator chose the colour yellow for the roof? Perhaps the colour yellow represents hay? If that's the case, I wish they use actual hay for the roof instead. They should keep the roof darker brown or black, or even red!
