Re: I really need tips on keeping my sylvanians!
How many do you have?
I have only 50+ figures and for now I'm fine just keeping most of them in their boxes. Still, I've been OCD enough to get a nice supply of several-size ziplock bags and nice big empty computer motherboard boxes - just in case That's where and how I keep my vintage SFs too. Nice to have a computer geek husband, so many free boxes... :P

Well, I still think that ziplock bags + nice spare big boxes are the way to go. Just be sure to give your stored SFs some air from time to time (like once in couple of months), in case you don't have silica gel with them and have a high moisture weather.

Re: I really need tips on keeping my sylvanians!
I also have a problem with new SF dolls. When I see the year underneath their foot, I saw 1985. I'm not sure if it's the year of its production or the year it was designed.I recently bought the Cream Cat family and Honey Bear family with 1985 sticker underneath their feet and they smelled like fungus. I've tried putting them outdoors and let the sun get rid of the smell. It didn't work.
What do you suggest?
Thank you!!

I keep my families in plastic bags and then plastic boxes. I also throw a couple dryer sheets into each box. They smell very good! I also throw dryer sheets Into the boxes of stored items furniture, or stored buildings. It absorbes the dryer sheet fragrance and smells so good! Hope that helps.

Re: I really need tips on keeping my sylvanians!
I have close to 1300 figures now. I keep most of them in ziploc bags in an under-bed storage bin. Some are kept in their original boxes and stored in tubs. I have about 8 tubs full of Sylvanian figures in boxes and playsets.

I also found mould spots on my Babblebrook rabbits, so I steamed them with some cloves to kill the mould and gave them a bath - good as new!
I found some ( what I think is) mould on my fav sylvanian and my neighbour found some on her's aswell! How do you steam them?? Another thing:
my friend gave one of her sylvanians to her neighbour because her neighbour needed him to do a set up but when she got the sylvanian back he had this mark on his cheek! my friend and I have washed many times but its very hard to get rid of and we are afraid he might get fur-loss...could it be mould??

How do you and your neighbor wash your sylvanians? Another way to get rid of mould is to put the figure in zip loc bag and into the freezer for couple of days up to weeks. But what kind of mark is it? I don't think it would get mould so quickly.

Is it ok for figures to be clothed and next to each other in boxes? Or do most people put them wearing nothing on their own in ziplock/sandwhich bags?
