It is heavily based on Lovecraft's Dream Cycle. And it has a Cat of Ulthar as an NPC. How can you go wrong with a cat that stands up right and wears clothing. They did a clever thing with connection it all to aspects of the Collective Unconscious. Additional MegaTen games are my highest wants in terms of translations. And somebody should translate Growlanser as 2-5 have been released here in some format. nondisclosed_email@example.com (MrBear)Wed, 04 Sep 2013 11:01:37 +0000 Re: Ryusui's Adventures in Programming!https://bsfforum.runboard.com/p44191,from=rss#post44191https://bsfforum.runboard.com/p44191,from=rss#post44191Yeah, it royally peeves me that we didn't get a US release for the PSP version of Eternal Punishment. If only so they could fix the original localization to be more consistent with the rest of the franchise. (And if Square-Enix releases one more version of FFVII that doesn't fix the translation... >_<#) On a brighter note, the fan translation patch for Danganronpa was recently released. I'll admit I'm still holding out for an official US release - with both games coming to Vita in a compilation package, I'm betting Aksys might pick it up (it'd be right up their alley). Anyway, on the Ouya front. I had to switch to Haxe 3 and OpenFL, but I finally got Ouya controller support working. Now I need to port the actual game to Haxe...XDnondisclosed_email@example.com (TheRyusui)Thu, 04 Jul 2013 10:50:33 +0000 Re: Ryusui's Adventures in Programming!https://bsfforum.runboard.com/p44130,from=rss#post44130https://bsfforum.runboard.com/p44130,from=rss#post44130I want somebody to make a patch for the PSP release of Persona 2: Batsu :Pnondisclosed_email@example.com (MrBear)Wed, 03 Jul 2013 00:22:05 +0000 Ryusui's Adventures in Programming!https://bsfforum.runboard.com/p43950,from=rss#post43950https://bsfforum.runboard.com/p43950,from=rss#post43950Welp, I'm back, ladies and gentlemen. Sorry I was gone for so long...I realized that despite being the admin, my main contributions consisted entirely of canned welcomes to new guests. ^_^; Anyways. If you've heard of Ouya, you might be surprised (or not) to learn that, yes, I have one right now this instant. Yes, I was one of the backers who plunked down $100 during the Kickstarter last year. It's lost a bit of its luster now that I have a smartphone - and having fiddled with it a bit, I can see where there's plenty of room for improvement - but the promise of putting a game on an Android-based console with a dedicated controller is too good to resist. So I'm soldiering away at the prospect of getting one of my games to work on it. So far a fairly basic little proof-of-concept demo runs, but without functioning controls - hopefully that will change once the Ouya is available to the general public and more intrepid programmers can freely hammer out the library support I need to make games in Haxe as I had planned. As an aside, I got my backer Ouya only four days before the official launch. All things considered...probably better for me that I got it late instead of ranting and raving for months about missing Haxe library functionality. XD And as for the game I'm trying to port to Android/Ouya...I finally managed to get another Ludum Dare Game Jam entry finished. The theme was "Minimalism," and so I went with deliberately Atari-style retro graphics. Behold: Squeeps! Give it a try and let me know what you think - there are also some aspects of the gameplay that aren't adequately explained on the title screen, so if you're stuck or confused, read the comments. Enjoy!nondisclosed_email@example.com (TheRyusui)Mon, 24 Jun 2013 22:47:33 +0000
