Re: Sad Sylvanian news today
I hope that International Playthings will also lose their distribution deal in the States. That would not be sad news to me! They have very little knowledge of the product and line.

Sadly after 14 years of marketing Sylvanian Families, Flair Leisure products will cease to sell the Sylvanian Families at the end of the year.
From the beginning of next year the range will now be distributed directly by Epoch of Japan in order to achieve a more global brand vision for Sylvanian Families.
Has this come from a press release from retailers?
Also I do have a feeling that if this was a from a press release to retailers it probably shouldn't be out in the public domain just yet.

Re: Sad Sylvanian news today
This topic is closed while awaiting the official response from both companies. As some of our mods have been received feedback from the stakeholders regarding this leak-out.
May we also request that no new topic concerning this be created until the official response is released. While we do understand everyone concern and excitement over this, we would like to stress the importance of respecting the wishes of both Epoch and Flair.

Re: Sad Sylvanian news today
I have now reopened this.
BUT
Could I please ask that no further information is leaked or provided from anybody who is a retailer. If the information you are posting comes from documents or sources that are only available to retailers and not consumers then it should not be posted on the boards unless it is available elsewhere on the internet. The link at the start of this topic is now ok because the information is available on the internet. I do realise that some collectors are also retailers but please remember that information is often given to retailers that is not widely available to collectors.
If you need clarification please contact a moderator. We really aren't wanting to be spoilsports but a lot of the info in trade catalogues or similar publications to retailers is copyrighted and is currently the property of Flair. Many thanks

Re: Sad Sylvanian news today
So someone from Flair or Epoch actually took the time to contact mods here? I am shocked. In so much of the collectible toy industry leaks are a constant thing. I wonder if changing to Epoch will result in fewer unique releases?

Re: Sad Sylvanian news today
Correct me if I'm wrong but, doesn't it mean that Epoch will have the distribution rights in the UK and therefore will be able to supply standardised Sylvanian products
Which cuts down on the need for different packaging and moulds (cost cutting exercise)
We shall just have to wait and see.

Re: Sad Sylvanian news today
I found that link on my own through a google search on the 28th of June, the same day of the original post so the information was out there since then. I googled and found it after this thread was closed.
I don't know if a standardized figure is completely likely. I may be wrong, but isn't the Easy Buy line distributed directly through Epoch?
I'm not complaining about the Easy Buy figures; I love them.

Re: Sad Sylvanian news today
I do not care much for "standardization" in a line like this.
