Re: customizing a dolls house for my Sylvanian family

This is a really neat project! Part of me would like to do more than just place furniture/accessories inside my Calico Critters homes at some point, and it's wonderful to see what can be done with other dollhouses. Looks like things are coming along wonderfully! I look forward to seeing more of your progress as you transform this into an adorable not-so-little home!

Re: customizing a dolls house for my Sylvanian family

I used to make winter scenes with my Sylvanian houses, lamp posts and snowmen and of course the roll of cotton wool. The houses are already furnished and curtained, so it is just a case of taking over the dinning table and arranging the houses and outside scene. I never managed to make a frozen pond for the ice skaters though. I must admit that it costs a packet in batteries for all the lights but it is amazing. I even had a Christmas tree that looked like the lights on it were changing colour.

madforSF, I wish you had a photo of that scene! By the way, have you ever posted photos of your collection?

No I haven't got round to photographing my collection. I know I should, but I seem to get waylaid when I start. As far as my winter scene is concerned, little fingers can do a lot of damage. I will have to wait until my youngest grandson is a little older before I set it up again. emoticon

Really nice job! With the critters inside I realize that the house is quite big!

I have always loved Making 12th scale miniatures! Had to stop because my sight is failing. Doing this house is so [sign in to see URL] have another house (for my Sylvanians)which I shall start on in the new year!
