Hello from North Wales!

Hello everyone emoticon

My name is Izzy, I'm 23 and I'm from the UK. I live in North Wales at the moment, but I'm originally from London.

I first started collecting Sylvanians when I was very young, and my parents used to reward me with them when I'd done something good. One of my first figures was Greta Furbanks, who I got when I was about 4 after having some of my childhood vaccinations. Some of my other early figures were Oscar and Ottilee Marmalade, who were on top of a "teddybear's picnic" birthday cake my mum made for me, and Baden and Mikaela Renard, who were on a camping-themed cake a few years later!

My absolute favourite Sylvanian is named Tabitha Merryweather (although I think her real name is Charlotte; I'm not sure where I picked the name Tabi up from but it's always going to be her name to me!). I got her at a very difficult time in my life and because of this she became my best friend. She travelled absolutely everywhere with me and was always there as a source of comfort. She looks so old and worn out now but I wouldn't have her any other way emoticon. Here she is in the new Christmas dress I've just finished making for her:

I stopped collecting when I was about 14, as I had not long since started high school and had been teased about my Sylvanian collection, so decided to stop collecting as I was desperate to fit in. My interest has never really gone away though, and over the last 2 or 3 years I've found myself getting more and more interested in Sylvanians again, and now that I've grown up and don't have to deal with childish teasing anymore I've decided to start properly collecting again emoticon. I'm mainly interested in collecting figures, mainly because in the house I'm living in at the moment I don't have any space to keep buildings or furniture sets. Despite living in London for the first 19 years of my life I've never visited the Sylvanian Shop, but this is something that I'm definitely going to change in a couple of weeks when I'm back in London for Christmas!

My other main hobby is crafting, and one of the things that has drawn me back in to the world of Sylvanians is being able to make lots of things for them. I've hardly found any Sylvanian-scale clothes patterns or tutorials, so if anyone knows of any good ones then I would be very grateful if you were to send some links my way, as well as any other links to good sites for Sylvanian crafts emoticon

So, hello again, and I'm really looking forward to joining in on these boards and getting to know you all emoticon

Thank you so much for this. I've seen the first link and have made a few dresses from the patterns, but I've never seen the second link! I've only just learnt how to crochet and have never followed a pattern like that before, but I'm definitely going to give it a go emoticon
