Pettyfur's Pizza - another project requested by dd

When the pizza set arrived in the mail the first thing dd noticed was Peter Pettyfur working behind the counter on the box. Since the guinea pigs are her favorite family (they get to live in the big house AND own the traveling camper, lol) she decided that pizza would be Peter's business, and he needed a commercial location for this venture.

So, this is what we got. emoticon
I sure hope she stops coming up with projects [sign in to see URL]'m falling behind!

The brick is actually mini bricks on a mesh sheet - a doll house miniature item. When you use it, you're supposed to fill all the cracks with this mixture - sort of like concrete for doll driveways I suppose. emoticon

We'll fill it in with that stuff once it has a permanent [sign in to see URL] now we move it around depending on what dd is playing with.

I sure hope the ermines don't get any tomato sauce on that white fur of theirs when they eat. ^__^

FABULOUS!!! I love the brick work. Your scene looks so realistic! They look like they are all going to spring to life and start a conversation any minute.

Here as a pale comparison are a couple of photos of my pizza shop.

The awning, roof palings and signage came as part of a SF club magazine. How could I resist!!! I used an old hospital or florist building.

Here it is in the cabinet that I had three shelves of shops in the size of the old hospital/florist.

All4Her,

I have two questions:

1) How did you make the sign for your Pizza Shop?

2) Is there a way to make new awnings for the front of the shops? I have a few older shops that the awnings were either missing or messed up when I bought the buildings. It would be nice to be able to replace them.

Thanks,

Julia

I know this is an old post but I need to know if anyone can pinpoint which SF Collector Club's magazine has the pizza sign, awning, and roof palings that Kiwidelight used for her building.

DeafCandy, I am not sure of a magazine. But, all my little shops in a Gingerbread Grove were redone and look good. Do you have a complete shop? I pride off the cardboard on the roof and awning and used them like a template cut everything out and used decorative scissors to cut the awning. For the sign I laid a piece of paper over it and made a temple that way. I hope that helps! Maybe someone will find that magazine!
